HALT!
We miss a ride or a subway and halt in our tracks. When you stop chasing, what finds you instead?

October 26-30, 2009 (Mon-Fri)
Daily between 1-5pm (between ferry arrival and departure times)

Free to the Public
Whitehall Ferry Terminal, NYC

Subway: 1 South Ferry, 4/5 Bowling Green, N/R Whitehall Street

Choreographer Pavel Zustiak teams up with scenographer Nicholas Vaughan and three stellar performers to create Palissimo's first site-specific performance installation for the Whitehall Ferry Terminal.

Reconnect with space and time-and each other-in the face of today's virtual reality of social meeting places. Encounter a private public performance where you least expect it, and be part of the cast of the greater moving public. Tap into Palissimo's "Sound Bar" to frame the playful and provocative acts of the performers, and encapsulate yourself with your own private soundtrack amidst a sea of hurrying strangers.

Beauty and flights of the imagination arrive at the least expected places and moments--but only if you halt! to notice them.

PRESS:
"Reason to Miss the Boat: Dance at the Ferry Terminal ... [we] found ourselves watching two dramas unfold: Mr. Zušiak's and the dawning realization of passers-by that the lobby had become a performance space...Muddying the line between public and private space is a driving force for Mr. Zuštiak, whose work often shows people unraveling."
Claudia La Rocco, The New York Times <read full review>

"Pavel Zuštiak has tapped into a whole ocean of longing ... so compelling and each performance, so completely unique..."
